Vaping and Nicotine Cessation Support

UHCS’s Ready to Quit Program offers individualized smoking cessation support services and nicotine replacement products for Northeastern students. Learn more through the Ready to Quit FAQ page and take the next step by completing the Ready to Quit intake form. 

Text-Based Services may be helpful to guide users through the quitting process. They also offer services for parents and loved ones of young adults who use e-cigarettes, vapes, and other nicotine products. To access the truth initiative’s This is Quitting text-based service, text DITCHVAPE to 88709. You can also text VapeFreeMass to 88709 to access a local option.  

Online Resources: Smokefree.gov offers a tool to build an individualized quit plan for both cigarettes and vapes. Additional resources are available from the National Institutes of Health, including a detailed how-to guide walks users through every step of the quitting process, from thinking through why you want to quit to getting you prepared for what challenges to expect. State and national resources can be accessed by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW. You can find more information on how to quit vaping at smokefree.gov.

Please note: There is no BAC calculator that is 100% accurate because of the number of factors that affect consumption and reduction (burnoff) rates of different people. These factors include amount of food in the stomach when drinking, medications or drugs that may be in the system, metabolism rates, etc. The best that can be done is a rough estimate of BAC based on the information provided.
